With 29 years passing since the release of the First Edition of the Kyokushin Kata Book, and 10 since the revised Second Edition, it was decided by Hanshi Steve Arneil and Liam Keaveney that an updated version was well overdue. 

Bound in a 400gsm matte laminated cover, the contents are printed in full colour on 130gsm silk paper; it is plain to see from the start that this edition differs from its predecessors. Not only has the feel of the book been improved, but the design has also been revamped. 

The entire collection of approximately 1,400 photos depicting the breakdown of each kata have been painstakingly re-shot, with a number of corrections made that had previously slipped through the net. In addition, two new chapters have been added detailing the history and providing information on the kata names. 

A conscious effort has been made throughout the book to provide a whole new dimension to the katas. Alongside the new chapters, previously unseen photographs have been included, providing a glimpse of different aspects to Kyokushin Karate

Sensei Sunil is also one of the karateka’s displaying a few katas in the book.
