Shihan Sunil Tailor - 5th Dan
Chief Instructor
Shihan Sunil has been training in martial arts for over 34 years. He has competed in various karate tournaments from kata, semi-contact to full contact combat, both at home and abroad, obtaining a number of podium positions.
A former World Kata Champion and multiple British Champion, Shihan Sunil coached kata for the British Kyokushin Karate (BKK). Shihan Sunil is part of the IFK Kata Committee Board. He has now also started to coach the England under 18 Juniors. In addition trained with a number of the top instructors worldwide in various martial art disciplines.
Sunil started his karate at the age of 12 as a member of Charnwood Kyokushinkai Karate club. At the age of 17 he passed his 1st Dan Black Belt, 2nd Dan at the age of 26, 3rd Dan at the age of 31, 4th Dan at the age of 38 and was awarded 5th Dan in 2017 by Hanshi Steve Arneil.
Shihan Sunil founded Loughborough Kyokushinkai Karate club in May 2003 and has taught a number of students from as young as 6 to 50 years of age.
Senpai Phil Lee - 2nd Dan

Senpai Phil has been training with Loughborough Dojo since 2004. He has competed in kata, semi and full contact tournaments and has represented England in a number of semi-contact tournaments. Senpai Phil got his Black Belt in 2009 and graded to 2nd Dan in 2015.
Senpai Sophie Lee - 2nd Dan

Senpai Sophie has been training with Loughborough Dojo since 2003 from the age of 10. Senpai Sophie has represented club and country in Full contact fighting in the UK, Switzerland, Belgium and Holland. She is also a former GB squad member and represented Britain at the Junior and Cadet World Tournament 2011. Sophie was awarded her Black Belt in 2011 and graded to 2nd Dan in 2015.
Senpai Phil Cook - 2nd DAN
Assistant Instructor
Senpai Phil started Training at Melton Dojo in 1994. He joined Loughborough Dojo in 2012. He is an experienced clicker fighter (point scoring) and has also entered regional and open Knockdown Tournaments. His is former heavyweight Scottish Open Champion. Phil achieved his black belt in 2001 and graded to 2nd Dan in 2015
Senpai Ollie Wassall - 1st Dan
Assistant Instructor
Senpai Ollie started training at Melton Dojo. He joined Loughborough Dojo in 2012. He is an experienced Clicker and Knockdown fighter and represented Team England a number of times. Senpai Ollie graded to 1st Dan in 2017.
